Hux can barely stand to look the Grandmaster in the face when they live next door to each other. Now he's his temporary warden and he is....so much less sparkly than the other is.
[ He's never not going to call him that; it just rolls off the tongue too well, but here he is! The Grandmaster, as always, is genuinely surprised and happy to see him. Perhaps a little happier than usual. ]
I would ask to what I owe the surprise, but I saw the announcement. Best decision the Admiral could have made; I'm honestly disappointed it's only going to last four weeks.
[And isn't that a bizarre notion; someone happy to see him other than Bodhi Rook or his ex-warden? Hux looks confused and a bit suspicious]
Ex-General, actually.
[It's not said harshly, though; more like he himself is still getting used to the idea. He blinks at the surprising sentiment. After his and Jedao's unpairing, he'd been under the impression that he was a bad-luck warden]
[ It never enters his head that Hux is bad at his job, because he likes him, and he has a very selectively positive view of what a Warden's job is for him. ]
We already get along so well, and we had fun together before, right? And you, I've had a feeling about you since day one, I really have. Heck, you could have practically been my Warden already.
[ He starts to step back to wave him in. ]
Did -- did you want to come in? Need something else?
[This is so bizarre. Hux flushes; he had a plan. Now that plan has gone completely off the rails and he's blanking out again]
Ah - yes, please.
[Part of the plan was getting inside. Obviously. He had just rehearsed a few debate points about the benefits of being allowed in and wasn't expecting to just be invited. Hux feels wrong-footed in the Grandmaster's generosity.
He walks inside, staring around at the cabin. He's dressed like a black hole surrounded by a sea of sparkling stars. He takes a breath, turning back to address the Grandmaster once he remembers what he's meant to say]
I felt it was good if we got to know each other a bit better. I know I'm your temporary assignment but if you weren't objecting to that, we could go to lunch together? Once or twice a week, schedules permitting?
[it actually takes him longer than one might think; he moved in with Bodhi recently, so he's no longer across the hall and instead has to come from a different floor. Regardless, there's a knock on the Grandmaster's door as Hux brings over the man's file]
[ When he answers the door -- he noticed that the door across from his is back to being a blank one but he's been gracious not to take it personally. ]
Oh hey, there you are. Is that it?
[ Gesturing at the file. He steps back to let him in. ]
...I should start by saying thank you for...looking after my younger self. He was impressionable and naive and didn't fully understand what was going on. I'm sorry if he caused you discomfort.
No, but I was looking through your file and now that my own warden has disappeared, I'm a little concerned that we need to be making more progress than we have been.
[It's been...months? He can't think straight enough to do the math. It's not the most comfortable memory to begin with, after all. Regardless, he broke off his arrangement with the Grandmaster quite a while ago, and at the moment that seems like a horrible mistake. He needs that distraction. Needs any distraction, frankly.
When the Grandmaster finally answers his door (after a lot of arrhythmic knocking), Loki's leaning so heavily against the door frame it's not really a mystery just how intoxicated he is. Nor is the reason for his visit a mystery when he shifts his languid body from the door frame to the flat of the Grandmaster's chest, arms looping lazily around his shoulders.]
'sbeen a while, hm? Changed my mind. Fuck me however you like. [He's too far gone to particularly care what they do, so long as the do something and soon.]
[ It's hard not to light up a little, arms almost instinctually slipping around the other man, to steady the both of them and savor the moment for what it is. Who doesn't appreciate a tall drink of water coming for a fairly amorous visit, really? But the Grandmaster's recent discussions with his Warden are still fresh in his mind. But to his credit, while still jovial, he dives in carefully. ]
Kinda looks like you already started a party without me.
[But he's not going to dwell on the why of any of this right now. He can barely handle the what. Which is partly why coming to the Grandmaster sounded like such a good idea. Who needs to think about anything when you can just get someone to give you orders?]

May I come over at your earliest convenience?

Of course! I'm not doing anything.
[ He's doing something, but nothing important, and he can multitask. ]
Feel free to drop by.

That is inappropriate! We are animals and I will not have - what are you, incidentally?

Re: [Video]
No, not the point. I have to restock and my thumbs are now nonexistent. I'm carrying things with my teeth.
